Two shallow roof planes pitch toward each other over the living wing, with the garage set back under a third. The walls are white and flush, so the cedar at the entry and around the covered outdoor room does all the work.

The outdoor room is open on two sides with a built-in leaner facing the hill, and a spa is set into the edge of the deck. A boulder retaining wall curves alongside the drive and holds the level lawn the house sits on.
