The site falls away to Nelson Haven, so the house turns its back to the road and opens the length of its living side to the water. From the street it reads as one low dark form: vertical board in near-black, a cedar wing warming the entry, and a garage recessed deep enough to throw shadow across the approach.

Solar sits flush to the roof plane rather than on frames above it. The driveway is exposed aggregate, the entry cedar-lined, and the front door is set back far enough that the light spilling out of it is the first thing you see arriving at dusk.
