Grampian Oaks Lane

Three homes · Skillion roofs

Three homes on one lane, one architectural language, three different characters.

Cut into the hill

Numbers 3, 5 and 7 share a roofline and very little else. Each is a single-storey skillion cut into the bank, with dark aluminium joinery and a vertical cedar wall marking the entry, and each takes a different finish across the rest: white ribbed steel at 3, cedar with olive plaster and a schist pier at 5, charcoal plaster at 7.

Building three at once on the same lane meant the earthworks, the retaining and the services were solved once rather than three times, and the homes still read as individual rather than as a row.
